Weekly Newsletter

Let your light shine through family, friendship and faith
“Enabling our whole school community to flourish and let their light shine, preparing them for their role as gentle and humble agents for change in the world we share.”
Holiday Club
Little Stars Holiday Club is running at Oulton First School again over the October half term. Booking forms have been sent out should you wish to take advantage of this provision.
World Mental Health Day
Thursday 10th October is Mental Health Awareness Day. Come wearing something yellow! This could be just one yellow item, but can be more if you wish. The children will take part in a range of activities throughout the day. No donation is required. This day is simply about promoting awareness.
Harvest
Our Harvest Service this year will take place next Friday (11th) at 9am. Please drop your child off at Church between 8.45am and 8.55am. We will walk the breakfast club children down to church at 8.45am.
This year we are collecting donations for the local foodbank. If you would like to contribute please send tinned / dried foods etc. Nothing perishable please. Donations can be sent to school or directly to church.
School Discos
Discos will take place for Nursery, Reception and Year 1 on Monday 21st October, and for years 2, 3 and 4 on Tuesday 22nd October. Both discos will begin at 4.30pm and finish at 6pm. Tickets are £6 per child and include Pizza and juice. They are available now on Eduspot until 16th October.
PTA Fundraising
We have an active PTA who work very hard to raise money and put on events for our children.
Below is a link and some information on a simple way that we can all support our PTA in this endeavour.
Easyfundraising
Thank you to everyone for signing up to support us by shopping online through easyfundraising, it really makes a difference. We currently have 17 supporters, who collectively have raised £53.99 over the last few weeks, at no extra cost to them, but by simply shopping online!
Please sign up too, it's easy! Simply go to www.easyfundraising.org.uk

You shop. Your cause gets money. For free. Join 2.4m people raising free donations via 7,000+ shops & sites. |
Create an account and select Barlaston First PTA as your chosen cause. You can also install a Mobile App & a Donation Reminder - to help to jog that memory when purchasing online.
The PTA's current fundraising goals are geared around supporting the development of the Forest School area and to purchase new 'reading for pleasure' books for classroom libraries. Your help and support is greatly appreciated, as always.
I will from now on attach the monthly PTA newsletter to this weekly newsletter when they are issued.
Thank you very much for your continued support.
Regards,
Mr J Gordon
