Welcome
A big welcome to our Early Years Department at Barlaston C.E (VC) First School. Our Early Years family is made of two classes; Little Dormouse Class (Nursery) and Hedgehog Class (Reception), each class can cater for up to 30 children.
Our Vision in Early Years is for every child to:
Explore –the highly stimulating, engaging environment rooted in mutual respect, to develop a sense of belonging and feel safe to take risks to move their learning and development to the next level.
Believe – once the children feel valued, this sense of belonging and safety will manifest into self-belief and determination so that the children believe in themselves as much as every member of staff believes in them.
Achieve – through exploration and self belief, children will become resilient, happy learners who can achieve amazing things set by both themselves and staff around them.
Within our Early Years family, we have a team of nurturing, passionate and dedicated staff made up of both qualified teachers and Early Years Teaching Assistants who are committed to making every day for our amazing children the best and most engaging that it can be.
