Let your light shine through family, friendship and faith

“Enabling our whole school community to flourish and let their light shine, preparing them for their role as gentle and humble agents for change in the world we share.”

Ofsted Inspection 14th and 15th May

You will be aware that we got “the call” on Monday morning and received an inspection visit on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.  Two inspectors visited on Tuesday with just the lead inspector joining us on Wednesday.  We are not able to discuss any details of the report until it is published, which we expect to be in the second half of next month.

I am able to say, though, just what a credit all the children were to yourselves and our school during the visit, and how proud we are of them. They should all be extremely proud of themselves. The inspectors enjoyed working with the children and talking to them about their learning and their view and experience of our school.

I’d also like to say a big thank you to all parents and carers who spoke to the inspectors and/or took part in the Ofsted Parent View Survey.

Surveys

We have recently carried out a general parent survey, a survey on SEND, and now the Ofsted survey.  I’d like to thank you all for a fantastic level of engagement in all of these surveys.  The responses in all three surveys has been incredibly positive and complimentary.  We appreciate very much that you have taken the time to do this.  It means a lot to all of us at school.

There are of course a few comments relating to things we can improve and where you feel we could or should do better, and we welcome those too.  We take all reasonable suggestions for improvement very seriously and we will explore any way we can of addressing these in our endeavour for continual improvement.

Non- Uniform Day

Next Thursday (23rd May) will be a non-uniform day for no other reason than to celebrate the end of an extremely busy week and half term.

Records of Achievement Day

We will hold our second Records of Achievement day on Friday 7th June (we now have the folders!). Parents and carers will be invited to come into school at any time between 2.15pm and 3.15pm that afternoon to put certificates, photographs, souvenirs etc into the folder with your child.  Pop in for just 5 minutes during that hour, or stay for the whole hour.  We ask that parents and carers leave at that time so that the children can begin the end of day routines.

Holiday Club

Sports Coaching Group will once again be providing holiday club at May half term.  I am attaching the flyer which you will already have had.  It is very important that if you wish to take advantage of this provision you book on via the SCG website at the earliest opportunity. The club will run from Tuesday 28th May to Friday 31st May.

Sports Day

We were very disappointed yesterday to have to postpone our sports day today.  Unfortunately, our field becomes extremely wet very quickly and it wasn’t safe to go ahead.  We will try again next Friday.

Social Media

With KS1 and KS2 performances on the horizon and the increasing number of parents / carers photographing and even videoing parts of Family Worship I just need to remind everyone that we have children in school whose image must not be shared publicly. Please do not share any photographs or videos that include any child other that your own on any form of social media, including Whatsapp.  This is extremely important.  Thank you for your co-operation.

Regards,

Mr J Gordon
