Standon Bowers

Our Year 4 children had a fantastic time on their residential trip to Standon Bowers and returned on Friday afternoon excited to share their stories and experiences with their grown-ups.

Mrs Hewitt

Mrs Hewitt left us on Friday afternoon to start her maternity leave. We wish Mrs Hewitt all the very best and look forward to meeting her with baby Hewitt later in the year.

Dougie Mac Day 22nd May

We are holding a Dougie Mac day next Monday. This will be a non-uniform day. We are asking the children to wear something yellow (please don’t buy anything new – any yellow item is absolutely fine) and suggesting a donation of a pound.  The children will take part in a range of fun and exciting activities throughout the day.

Early Years Open Evening – 23rd May

We are holding an open evening on 23rd May for all those who may wish their little one to attend our Reception or Nursery Class.  This is an opportunity to come and have a look around, meet the staff and ask any questions you have.

There will be a separate introductory event for those who already have a child accepted into our Reception Class for this September.  Mr Peel will be in touch shortly.

Broughton Crescent

I had a visit from the police on Friday afternoon following complaints from both parents and residents about safety in Broughton Crescent at school drop off and pick up times, including both breakfast and after school club.  I am talking regularly to the council about this issue and they are providing us with 4 ‘parking buddies’ to remind everyone to park both legally and considerately.  I am advised that delivery of these is imminent and you will see them out on the crescent soon.  Efforts to employ a school crossing patrol are also ongoing.  Please observe the road markings when parking. They are there to help keep our children safe at all times.

The police have asked me to pass on that they will from now on be paying particular attention to the safety of driving and parking in the crescent and will patrol on varying days at anytime, or all of the time, between 7.45am and 9.15am in the mornings and/or 3.15pm and 6pm in the evenings.

Thank you for your co-operation in helping to keep our children safe.
