Let your light shine through family, friendship and faith

“Enabling our whole school community to flourish and let their light shine, preparing them for their role as gentle and humble agents for change in the world we share.”

Year 4

We are delighted to announce that Mrs Edge will become our new Year 4 teacher from 1st January.  We are now recruiting for a replacement for Mrs Edge’s current role.

Parents Evenings

Parent’s evenings will take place next week. Five minutes are allocated per meeting and are for a brief update on your child’s progress and how they have settled into the school year.  Please stick to the 5 minute time slot to be fair to all those with subsequent appointments.  If any matter requires a more in-depth conversation class teachers will be happy to arrange this at another time.

PE Kits

As the weather gets cooler we will still go outside for PE wherever possible.  Please ensure your child has a long-sleeved top and leggings / tracksuit bottoms.  PE kit needs to be plain white, black and/or green.

Little Stars

Little Stars nursery are once again running a holiday club over the Christmas break.  The booking form is attached.

Diabetes Screening

The nurses who came to do this advised me that response from Barlaston was amongst the best they had had.  It was good to see so many taking advantage of this opportunity and we have already booked in a date to do the same next year.

Flu Vaccinations

Flu vaccinations will take place on Tuesday (18th)  in the morning. Consents must be completed by 10am on Friday 14th November. https://forms.mpft.nhs.uk/?session=6579&code=ST124233-25

Items brought in from home

A polite reminder not to let your child bring in any items from home.  It causes great difficulties if items go missing or get damaged or lost, which many inevitably do.  Thank you for your co-operation.

Christmas Dinner Wednesday 17th December

Our Christmas dinner this year will take place on the above date and is now open on the Dolce App for booking.

Christmas Hampers

The children have found out today which colour their class will be for our annual Christmas hamper draw.  A flyer from our PTFA is attached showing the colour for each class.  Monday 17th November will be a non-uniform day for which we are asking you to donate any non-perishable items of the allocated colour for your child’s class  hamper.  Donations of items can be made from Monday 17th November up to and including Wednesday 26th November. The hamper draw will take place during the Family worship on Friday 5th December.  Raffle tickets for the draw are being sent home tonight.

Children do not have to wear any items matching the colour of their class hamper on Monday 17th.  It will be a straight-forward non-uniform day.

Children in Need

Because we are asking for donations for the above and we have so recently asked for donations for poppies, and we also have the non-uniform day on Monday, we have not asked for donations for Children in Need this year.  We do recognise, however, that many of you will want to donate to such a good cause so I am attaching the QR code for donations to this newsletter and you will see posters up around school displaying the code should you wish to donate.

Regards,

Mr J Gordon
