Let your light shine through family, friendship and faith
“Enabling our whole school community to flourish and let their light shine, preparing them for their role as gentle and humble agents for change in the world we share.”
Lipstick and Lip Balm
We have, in recent weeks, begun to see children coming into school wearing lipstick or brightly coloured/tinted lip balm. Whilst this is lovely for parties with friends outside of school it is not appropriate for the school day. If you feel that your child may need lip balm, please send in a clear lip balm and the class teacher will be happy to allow your child to apply it as appropriate.
Driving and Parking in the Lane
I have had a couple of reports of parents driving down or parking in the lane at the back of the school leading to the gate by the playground. This is increasing the risk to our children and to local residents. Please don’t drive into the lane. Thank you for your co-operation.
Pick-up and After School Club
Children who have not been picked up by 3.40pm are brought into our after-school provision. It is obviously unclear at that point whether grown-ups are just running late or intended for their child to be in afterschool club, but have not booked. All parents/carers who have a child in our after school club at 3.45pm, who we were not expecting, will receive a telephone call simply to confirm their intentions.
Records of Achievement Day 21st March
We had a lovely morning adding to our Records of Achievement folders this morning. It was great to see so many grown-ups popping in to see us. We will hold another similar morning in the summer term.
Mothers Day Activity 28th March
On Friday 28th March all children will decorate a plant pot in the classroom in the morning. In the afternoon members of the PTA will be coming into school and will help each child plant a flower in the plant pot which the children will bring home that afternoon. As this activity will take will take place throughout the afternoon there will be no family worship on that day.
100 Years of Stoke on Trent
This year is the 100th anniversary of Stoke –on- Trent being granted city status. On Wednesday 2nd April myself together with some of our governors and members of the church will be leading activities with the children to commemorate this. To assist with this we are asking if you have any memories or stories about Stoke–on–Trent which you could send in to us. A letter from Mrs Sands, one of our school governors, is attached.
PTA Family Chocolate Bingo
Books of raffle tickets are now available in the 'Shop' section of Eduspot.
Easter Service Friday 11th April
Our Easter Service will take place on Friday 11th April at 9am. Children should be dropped off directly at church on that morning between 8.45am and 8.55am.
There will be no family worship on 28th March or 11th April
Regards,
Mr J Gordon
