Let your light shine through family, friendship and faith

“Enabling our whole school community to flourish and let their light shine, preparing them for their role as gentle and humble agents for change in the world we share.”

Church

As a Church school we are delighted that our link with the local church, St John’s, is a strong one and that we are able to have end of term services in the church building.

Our daily worships are planned with the input and guidance of Reverend Stewart and the aim is to ensure that the children have the opportunity to engage with the Christian faith in a regular way through bible stories, prayer and singing. This is especially evident when we gather together for our worship sessions each day. A church member leads every Wednesday session which helps to strengthen our link with St John’s. Thank you to all, including Reverend Stewart, who take part in leading these worships.

We are also grateful to St John’s for hosting other events with us such as our half-termly coffee mornings when all of our Early Years children and staff go to church for play and activities, with all parents and carers invited to join for coffee.  These mornings always culminate in a worship led by a member of the church.

We are also very proud of our work with St John’s in events such as the food packing for Kibera and Ukraine, most recently last summer term.

We look forward to our strong and active links with St John’s continuing long into the future.

Little Stars

For those interested Little Stars Nursery will once again be running their holiday club provision over the February half term break.

Clubs

STEM Club with Mrs Broome will run on Wednesdays after school from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.  The club is open to Years 1 to 4 and will run from next week (Wednesday 22nd) up to and including Wednesday 12th February. Booking will open at 6pm tonight.

Discos

The disco for years 2, 3 and 4 will be held on Monday 10th February from 4.30pm to 6pm and the following afternoon the disco for Early Years and Year 1 will take place from 4.30pm to 5.30pm.

Earrings

Earrings worn at school need to be small plain stud earrings.  On PE days these need to be removed for school unless your child is able to remove them themselves for the PE lesson.

PE

Long sleeved tops worn for PE need to be plain black or green.  They do not need to have the school on them.

Thank you for your co-operation.

Regards,

Mr J Gordon
