Let your light shine through family, friendship and faith
“Enabling our whole school community to flourish and let their light shine, preparing them for their role as gentle and humble agents for change in the world we share.”
Harvest Service and Feed the Hungry
Thank you to all those who attended our harvest service this morning. As Vicar Stewart said, we will be working with the church and Feed the Hungry to hold a food packing event in the new year. Between now and then we will also work with the church to raise the money to be able to carry out this event. I will provide more information on this later in the year. In the meantime, thank you all for your very kind donations today.
Mental Health Awareness Day
We will be celebrating Mental Health Awareness Day on Tuesday 10th October. We are asking the children to wear something yellow (please don’t buy anything specifically) and bring a donation.
Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC)
You will have seen in the news at the end of August that some schools in the country are affected by the presence of RAAC in their structure(s). We were not on the list of schools issued by DfE and have not been informed that any of our building is affected. We do have regular surveys and reviews, and meetings and discussions regarding maintenance and any related issues with the local authority and a regular review from the DfE. None of these have raised any issues.
I want to assure you that the safety of the children in our school is our absolute priority at all times, and we wouldn’t hesitate in any decision or action we felt necessary to ensure this is always the case.
Parking in Broughton Crescent
Drop-offs and pick-ups from school are extremely busy times and space to park on Broughton Crescent is very limited. Please be considerate and respectful in your parking at all times, taking care not to block driveways and access of our neighbours to their properties, or any potential access that might be needed for an emergency services vehicle to the Crescent or to individual properties.
Thank you for your co-operation.
Parents Evenings
Parents evenings will take place on Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th October from 3.45pm to 6pm. Forms have come home tonight. Please select your preferred date and time and send the form back to us, and the class teacher will allocate an appointment time as close to your preference as possible and let you know.
