They are trying their best to get the website up and running again. Their latest email reads :

"Today we have been very busy replying to all your emails. This has resulted in many of you being able to organise the artworks and collection dates for them without hampering parents’ opportunity to order when the shop is open.

The whole system has now been transferred to a much larger server by Germany and I was hoping to be able to report that it was now being tested ready for relaunch tonight. However, in the placing it on a new server there have been conflicts on the software (I’m sorry I’m not more technical, some of you will have much greater knowledge than me). We are hoping that this issue will be resolved tonight and our IT team will get straight on with testing.

The solution of reverting to email communication, whilst frustrating for some parents and organisers, has been very successful for the majority of you and I propose to continue with that tomorrow morning at least to further catch up and inform on an individual basis how you can ensure that parents are able to order what they want. Details on that were sent in the previous update.

I will send an update tomorrow morning when I hope I will have positive news for all of you.

Until then, thank you for the kindness you have shown in your replies to our emails, and I am desperately sorry for this situation.

With best wishes

Dan Dickey
CEO | Art Projects for Schools"

As our deadline is not until 4th November we will not be their first priority. The children had brought non perishable food into school throughout the previous week, and some of this was displayed in the church during the service. Each class sang a harvest song or said a harvest rhyme and said thank you for all the food we have to eat each and every day. The church was bursting with children and parents, all of whom enjoyed hearing the singing, listening to bible readings and prayers written by the children and joining in with a congregational hymn.

The food collected and brought into school by the children will be donated to “The House of Bread” which is based in Stafford. This organisation provides warm meals for the homeless and families who are without food. At the end Mrs Clarey, head teacher at the school, thanked the parents and children for their generosity in giving to such a worthy cause.
http://barlaston.staffs.sch.ukWed, 21 Oct 2015 13:56:32 GMTBarlaston First School Live on Radio Stoke!
On Friday 2nd October, Radio Stoke attended our family worship. The theme was “Giving at Harvest Time.” William Morris, from “The House of Bread” came to talk to the parents and children about the work carried out by this organisation. Food is donated and cooked for the homeless and families in need. Will spoke to the children about the importance of saying thank you for our food, and also, at harvest time, the importance of helping others. Radio Stoke interviewed some children about what Harvest meant to them and a good time was had by all. We had a tremendous response from the children and parents, who gave generously to this cause, enabling many people to have warm food as the colder evenings approach.
http://barlaston.staffs.sch.ukWed, 21 Oct 2015 13:56:01 GMTMacmillan Coffee Morning
On Friday 25th September, our school hall was bursting with parents and children attending our Macmillan coffee morning. Many parents and staff had made cakes and we were delighted to raise nearly £100 towards this invaluable resource. The children had completed a homework task the previous week finding out about the work of the Macmillan nurses, and their findings were shared during the assembly. The children had a chance to purchase a cookie during their afternoon break, and this proved very popular. A huge thank you to all the parents, grandparents and friends who attended and gave so generously.
http://barlaston.staffs.sch.ukFri, 25 Sep 2015 14:40:00 GMTOur School is Growing!
The start of the autumn term saw the classes full of activity and an excited buss of meeting up with friends that the children hadn’t seen during the summer holiday. We are delighted to welcome Mr Horton to our staff this term, making our school a total of five classes, all single age. The total number of children in our school is 119. This number has doubled over the last five years, for which we are delighted!

Our new reception children came into school very excited and looking very smart in their new uniforms. We are delighted to say they have settled very quickly and we wish them and their parents, many happy years with us here at Barlaston.
http://barlaston.staffs.sch.ukWed, 21 Oct 2015 13:55:08 GMT
